Faith

As a scientific minded person, faith is a funny concept.  Empirical evidence is what I like!!  We can see, feel, hear, and taste TRUTH.  We are able to discern what is real and what isn't by our senses.

However, the Gospel is a little bit different.  Although “all things denote there is a God”(Alma 30:34), we are to “walk by faith and not by sight”(2 Cor. 5:7).  Some truths just cannot be measured with one of our 5 senses.

Jesus Christ is alive and real, and I know that.  Not through my 5 senses, but it has been witnessed to me in "[my] mind and in [my] heart by the Holy Ghost" (D&C 8:2).

Faith in Jesus Christ is more than just a passive belief in Him.

When we truly believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the World, we don’t just believe and move on with our lives.  We trust Him, we rely on Him, we try to change our lives to be in line with the things that He has taught us.

The woman in this video believed Jesus Christ. This belief led her to act-- to touch His clothing.  Because she chose to act, she was healed. We too must act on our faith!

"Faith is a gift from God, but you must nurture your faith to keep it strong.  Faith is like the muscle of your arm.  If  you exercise it, it grows strong.  If you put it in a sling and leave it there, it becomes weak" (TTTF p. 55).

How do you exercise/nurture your faith?
